Poor Lawrence was rescued by the RSPCA in March 2021
A tabby and white cat who was left with facial injuries following a cat bite is desperately looking to find his forever home.
Lawrence, a four-year-old male cat, came into the care of the RSPCA in March 2021 after being rescued in Dagenham, East London.
He was suffering from an abscess which had developed following a fight with another stray cat. The cat bite was very close to his right eye and required surgery. He was treated at the RSPCA’s animal hospital in London before going into the care of the RSPCA Friern Barnet branch.
His injuries have left him with a misshapen eye and a unique look which RSPCA staff are worried could be putting people off adopting him.
Georgina Holding, fostering and rehoming coordinator at the branch, said: “Lawrence has had a tough time. He came into our care last March with a horrible injury which needed surgery and left him slightly disfigured. He was rehomed in July 2021 but sadly it didn’t work out and he came back into our care in January of this year. Since then, we have struggled to find a home for poor Lawrence despite him being such a friendly and loving cat.
“We’re worried that his unique look is putting off potential adopters as we either haven’t had any applications for him or any interest we have had has fallen through. It seems like poor Lawrence has just been ‘ghosted’. It’s so sad to see such a fantastic cat waiting this long to find his forever home.
“We’d urge anyone who is looking to bring a cat into their life to please take a chance on Lawrence. We think he is beautiful inside and out!”
Lawrence is laid-back, free-spirited and loves to snuggle. He likes to play with his favourite ping pong balls before curling up again for a nap.
He has been in a foster home with calm, cat-experienced children and has formed good friendships with them so could live with children again. He is a confident boy who knows what he wants – which is often food!
He is looking for a home to match his chilled out character which isn’t too loud or busy and he would like to have outdoor access so that he can snooze in the sun. He’s a lap cat so would also like his new owner to be around often so he gets lots of fuss.
If you think you can give Lawrence a forever home please contact the branch on friernbarnetadoptions@rspca.org.uk
Unique looking cats are extra special. I hope he gets adopted soon.
He is so cute! I cannot believe that he hasn’t been adopted yet!
He’s such a handsome boy. I’m hoping he’ll find his forever home soon.
