Hi everyone,
Please find below a guest story by Barb – Toronto, Ontario, Canada:
We found Stanley curled up on our front porch one extremely cold day in January, 2010.
He was shivering and starving and there was no way we were going to leave him outside. He only weighed six pounds, had frostbite on the pads of his feet and scratches around his eyes. The vet said he wouldn’t have lasted much longer outside. Stanley is so sweet and gentle and very sociable.
He has a wonky back leg that sometimes looks like another tail because it often sticks straight out when he sits. I’ve taught him to sit, give me his paw and lay down.
To keep him safe, he’s now an indoor cat but we let him outside on a leash so that he can bask in the sunshine. He was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism in June, 2020, but the medication he’s on seems to be working. We don’t know what made Stanley choose our front porch, but we’re sure glad he did!
He knows his treats are kept in this pantry so he’ll open the door and sit inside until I see him.
He loves the smell of our shoes.
And he loves to look cute.
