2018 ‘Kittenhood’ photography competition winning image – photographed by Claire Mowforth from the UK
‘We started fostering kittens for the Blue Cross back in 2014, and have had an almost constant flow of cats and kittens ever since! I often photograph the kittens for the Blue Cross to then use on their facebook page or website, to assist with their adoptions.
In this photo is nine day old Galileo. His heavily pregnant mother was found abandoned in a garden, after her family had moved away, and was brought in to the Blue Cross. She came to stay with us, and shortly after gave birth to seven beautiful kittens, each of which was named after an inventor.
Galileo, pictured here napping with his sibling and mum, was the smallest of the litter. He was adorable though and very cuddly!
Galileo, his six siblings and his mother were all adopted very quickly once ready to be separated from each other, and settled in well to their new homes.’
Claire’s winning image features in the 2019 Kittenhood Calendar which is on sale to raise funds for International Cat Care’s welfare work.
