How Pets Find Their Way Home – With Microchips
Our pets are so important to us but sometimes we don’t take the necessary precautions to keep them safe. This infographic from GAP takes you through some tips on how to ensure they are safe. Microchips are not used enough, and they can be effective at returning your lost pet. Did you know that 52% of microchipped pets are reunited with their owners? Remember that just because your pet has a microchip, it does not mean that they don’t need an ID tag and collar. Don’t cheap out on these as there either as there are often cases where ID tags fade or collars break off. Spend a little bit of extra money on both as they could become priceless.
Some people have misconceptions about microchips, but the benefits far outweigh any perceived risks. Remember that a microchip isn’t a GPS advice and only contains an identification number for if your pet gets lost. Every precaution should be taken now to maximise your chances of getting your pet back if they get lost. It’s too important to let slide.
It isn’t possible to like your post at your blog today, Marc. I tried to update the site, but it didn’t help.
talking to wordpress now… 🙁
can you try now – i just force re-published
I hear you, just wished to tell you, again.
And glad you did! Overwise I probably wouldn’t have noticed until late at night. 🙂
Could you let me know if you tried again? It seems to be working for me and my partner and I can see a couple of other people’s likes but seems odd so not sure if it’s actually working for everyone again now. 😮
Yes, it works now for me too 😀
Excellent ! 🙂

Thanks ^^
@PeterAskin1 that’s good move
Totally agree, microchipping is the way to go! And the chip is international, so if you move to another country, you can just scan and re-register your pet in the new country.
One of our cats is from Texas and his chip does indeed work just fine over here. 🙂

Great article. Another point I would mention is that folks get their pets microchipped and then DONT register the chips with a company. This happened to me so I know it can happen.

Good tip! One of ours came with a registry in the US. So that was fun changing over here in the U.K. xD
