Hi everyone,
It is Nubia here today! 😀 I just have to show you the fantastic things we got in the post from our friends over at Cheshire & Wain.
As you may remember they released their wonderland collection recently. Today we are taking a look at said collection. 🙂
Nubia: Is that a catnip pillow?!?
Nubia: Oh… What was in that tin? 😀 I like the purple…
Nubia: I am ready! Please help me put on the collar. 😀
Nubia: Look at me Oli! This goes well with my fur. 😀
Oliver: Don’t tell me there is one of those for me as well…
Nubia: Look everyone! Doesn’t this colour suit me purrrrrrfectly? 😀
Oliver: Such a pampered princess you are…
Nubia: No! It’s not just pretty but it’s also soft and don’t forget if you go outdoors like our many brothers and sisters it helps give birds a chance to hear us and get away. 😮
Nubia: I can even do my prawn impression with the collar. 😀
Oliver: You mean look silly… o.o
Nubia: All this posing is so exhausting… It’s your turn Oliver!
Oliver: What? Me? NO!
Oliver: *Grumbles* Fine but only for a little while….
Oliver: Human! Can we put it back on my sister please?
Nubia: You are no fun today Oliver! I guess it’ll be up to me to tell everyone about the collars. 😀
Nubia: Each toy is lovingly handmade from great quality material and organic catnip *drools*
If you’d like one of the Cheshire cat toys yourself you can find these here (UK) and here. (US)
The collars come in two sizes Standard (19cm-25cm) and Petite (17cm-22cm) and you can find more on their sizing FAQ.
But how did Cheshire & Wain London start?
Meet Mr Peter Wells, or Percy for short: he’s the silver-spotted British Shorthair that inspired the start of Cheshire & Wain back in in 2012. When Sonja started shopping for the necessary cat product paraphernalia to welcome Percy into his new home, she found that she was often disappointed by the quality and aesthetic of what was available. Her main frustration was trying to find high quality, leather cat collars which are also safe for the cat to wear. All the leather collars that she came across had elastic instead of the breakaway catch that’s recommended by vets – she wanted to change that!

What about no collars. The bells are not stopping cats from having a go at birds. They might drive you and the cats nut, though.
But for those that want collars these safe break away once are much safer. 😉
Right you are. I just want to fight the myth that a collar with a bell would save birds. Cats are that skilled in stealth, they can move without letting the bell ring.
The only good news is that recent studies show that the frequency of the bell doesn’t hurt cat ears so it’ll only be annoying to us. 😉
Makes one wonder if it does reach the birds, then, if it does not hurt the cats …
The good news is that the bell can easily be removed of these collars. And in fact Sonja allows you to order them without bell straight away. 😉
I know two cats who get rid of collars very easily. A big clear up of the overgrown back hedge found three (!!!) of their discarded collars !!
LOL. You could open a cat collar thrift shop? 😉
It would probably be quite profitable.
Haha xD
interesting cat
Thank you 🙂
When our girl cat, Ms. Chief Cherie, was ready for a grown-up cat collar, I got her a beautiful cloth one with a pink safety clasp on the Etsy site, which is all hand-made crafts. The cloth is black with tiny white polka dots and large pink roses with green leaves. And…it came with a little bell. When it arrived, I got the letter opener and carefully slid the bell off, telling Cherie that she was entitled to stealth, as a cat. Besides, the sound of a bell would have driven me crazy. This is a house cat, so she doesn’t need a bell.
That collar sounds beautiful as well 🙂
nice collar and a beautiful member of your family
Thank you ^^
Reblogged this on Rattiesforeverworldpresscom.
Thank you 😀
I disagree with the comments for no bells.Even though your cats are indoor house cats,it won’t stop them from getting mischevious and get stuck in somewhere inside the house where you won’t be able to find. The bells are used to make us hear and know our cats location.
I simply love it when Oliver and Nubia do their posts. LOL! The collar is very pretty but my cats always got out of them. I spent so much money on collars, I stopped using them. On top of that I found out there were warnings about cats getting caught up in something and ended up being strangled. So no more collars for me. That scared me right there.
Strangling happens when using cheap collars without the safety mechanism. I’d rather loose a good collar than hurt a cat. <3
And thank you! Glad you enjoy their stories. 🙂
So cute, great pictures! That collar looks so good.
Thanks ^^
I love following Percy on Instagram…such a cutie pie! Love these collars…maybe Brenna will be blessed enough to receive one sometime if she’s a good girl!
But are cats not always good girls and boys? They would never ever do anything wrong. 😉
Ohhh wow, beautiful cats! The black one looks so much like my Kitty. ???
Thank you :). Nubia is our little princess ^^
Nuby, you’re the Queen of Beauty <3
