Do you and your pet have the perfect partnership?

A nationwide search to find the UK’s most perfect pet-owner partnership launches this month (March), aimed at celebrating the inseparable bond between humans and their four-legged friends. The search is supported by a study[i] that shows 76 per cent of owners treat their pets like extended members of the family.

Supporting the competition is TV presenter and Strictly Come Dancing contestant Mark Wright, who owns three dogs – a Chihuahua, Dachshund and Pomeranian – with his wife Michelle: “My pets are my absolute best friends (behind Michele of course). I’m always greeted by them as I come home and there is no better feeling!”

The competition highlights the importance of regular parasite protection to help keep pets happy and healthy and supports the national launch of the Drontal and Advantage Inseparables TV campaign.

Also supporting the campaign is everyone’s favourite dog and owner partnership, Britain’s Got Talent winners Ashleigh and Pudsey, who will also be performing an exclusive routine at Crufts. Their inseparable bond led them to winning the highly coveted Britain’s Got Talent crown and their relationship only goes to show the importance of keeping your pet happy and healthy. The Inseparables campaign brings together two parasite protection products to showcase the inseparable bond between pet and owner, and establish worm and flea prevention as an important ‘partnership regime’.

To enter, pet owners need to visit the Drontal and Advantage website www.drontalandadvantage.co.uk to upload their snaps here before the closing date of 10th June 2016. Judges from Your Cat and Your Dog magazines will choose the overall winner, whilst 10 runners-up will also be selected based on a leaderboard system where points are awarded every time they interact with the competition. These winners will receive goody bags packed with dog and cat accessories, treats and toys.

Vicky McAlister, senior product manager at Bayer Animal Health, comments: “The Inseparables competition is a fantastic opportunity for pet owners to showcase the incredible relationships they have with their pets and be in with a chance of winning some great prizes.  The competition is inspired by the partnerships of families and their pets and it is these relationships that can be protected by our own great partnership of Drontal and Advantage, to help keep Britain’s pets free of fleas and intestinal worms.”

Thanks for reminding me about fleas! 😀
Well last night the younger of our kitties was in a playful mood and I did my dutiful dangling of a sting for her until she seem to lag. The other kitty sleeping soundly in the window is not so very often active these days and has less energy to play, but used to be a retriever kitty. They are both pretty common black cats and once you see one, you’ve seen them all and they are all pretty.

I beg to differ: I could link to several sites in the blogosphere: Weggieboy has two lovely black Persian boys even I can keep apart from his blog, Unconfirmed Bacholerette had three black cats which were all different (well, she still has them, just that she has a fourth now, too,the first who is not black). And Nubia is different, to those all, not only because of her amputation.
A friend of mine had a real basement cat, plotting the doom of humanity.

If you have seen any one of them you have definitely NOT seen all the others, and I bet your two have different faces, too. That said, I got two black and white kitties in 2006, and one was a big tom, a mix between an ordinary house cat and some big breed (even the vet makes amends for his weight as he IS a lot taller than your ordinary cat) and the female was a tiny cat, with a much smaller frame, probably inbred. The first month I still got them confused (to be fair, they were both 10 months when I got them, tom had not reached his full size yet), when I could not see their faces and only saw a tail swishing by – even though even their tails were different – the tom having a long, but thinner tail, the female had a fluffier, but shorter one).

Here’s how I came to the statement about them all being the same “Common” even: I was laid up after falling down 12 concrete steps at uni. With time on my hands I went onto Google Earth to look at places around the world to occupy my mind. I went to Venice, Machu Picchu and all over the place, but then tied random average places abroad and I just kept finding our cats! Black cats with little bits of white are everywhere!! Even one in the dashboard of a car turning the corner, with the owner in the passenger seat stroking it.
In the meantime, the older kitty was so kind at keeping me company, retrieving little balls of tissue I rolled up and flicked. I told him “You’re everywhere!!” and we played and he kindly kept my feet warm when I slept. As for the differences, there’s loads really, but that I see all kitties the same: Wonderful

After a while, still having lots of time on my hands, I made my own “Spot the Kitties” of all sorts of cats sitting in all sorts of places from Google Earth (even that one on the dashboard). I did it by clicking [ PrSc ] and pasting the image onto [ Paint ] and adjusting them. I still have the collection on my old uni laptop, would you like me to post them in a stream on my blog for you, next time I go on that old laptop?

That would be cool! Do let us know the link to the post once you’ve done it. 🙂 and I never realised that you could spot them on Google Earth
