I’ve been complaining for quite some time now about winter lasting forever. I was sick of snow, fed up of cold, and completely done with the darkness. Thankfully in the last couple of weeks Spring has finally decided to show up!
Yesterday morning was so lovely and warm that we decided to open up the door to our balcony. The sun was shining and the birds were singing.
Turns out I wasn’t the only one who was fed up of winter. The minute the cats realised the balcony was open they were off to investigate all the sights and sounds of Spring. Our balcony is glassed so there was no risk of them escaping, but they were still able to sit and enjoy the sunshine. Lola had great fun trying to bat at a fly on the other side of the glass.
I guess the floor of the balcony is still pretty cold, as the boys decided they’d rather sunbathe in the doorway than actually on the balcony. I’m sure by the time Summer is truly upon us the balcony will become even more tempting.
It’s really lovely to see the cats enjoying the sunshine. And such a relief that we can let them out there safely, knowing that they won’t be able to escape!
Love,
Lady Joyful
Where is your cat’s favourite place to sunbathe?
I do not have a balcony and do not get much direct sun in this flat – but afternoon sun in summer makes my cats love the parquet floor of the living room.
Oh yes, Sampson was recently enjoying a spot of sun on the floor. It didn’t last long, but he took advantage of it whilst it was there! Thanks for commenting 🙂
congratulations!! enjoy the spring and sun.. thanks for sharing
Thanks 🙂
Our four cats and a dog jockey for position in the sun streaming through the living room window, onto the carpeted floor. Whichever is at the tail end of the line has to move about every 30 minutes, as the sun, and the warm spot, moves.:)
Ha, that sounds like quite the sight! Thanks for commenting 🙂
Reblogged this on Rattiesforeverworldpresscom.
Thanks!
The sunbathers are adorable. My little Parker loves to sit on the kitchen windowsill and bat at the lizard who torments her on the other side of the glass. Poor little Parker has not figured it out…
Oh dear, poor Parker! What a tease that lizard is. Thanks for commenting 🙂
We have a screened porch that they all love to sit in. They can yell at the wildlife (pesky squirrels and birds) and be safe. There is furniture there so they can sit on a cushion and don’t have to worry about the cold floor.
Sounds fabulous! We do have furniture on our balcony (which Lola took advantage of) but the boys decided the living room floor was better! Thanks for commenting 🙂
Our cats parquet 🙂
Wish we had a glassed in balcony here! Our cats pick any sunny window.
Sunny windows are fab, aren’t they! 😀 We’re very grateful for the glassed balcony. Our old flat didn’t have the glass, so we couldn’t let the cats out there. But they love the one here! Thanks for commenting 🙂
We cats Lola and Sasha are enjoying spring up here in the Arctic! Well, when there is spring here there is still quite a bit of snow on the ground. Today was sunny and pretty warm so we were outside a lot soaking up that precous sun. Check it out on our blog here: https://2bloggingcats.wordpress.com/2016/05/01/new-and-not-loved-ladder/

Our Lola likes your name 😉 It’s been lovely and warm and sunny here today too. Most of our snow has gone though there’s still a bit left in shady places. Thanks for commenting 🙂
Your balcony sounds great. Cute kitties.
Thank you! It would be better if there wasn’t the noise from the busy road, but other than that it’s pretty great 🙂 Thanks for commenting.
Glad you are finally get some warm days!
