Hi everyone,
It’s me Nubia again and as promised earlier I am back observing my brother as he is trying to get on top of our new cat scratcher!
Nubia: Come on Oli hurry up and get up there!
Oliver: Why don’t you try if you know everything better…
Oliver: Maybe I can get up here?
Nubia: I am not convinced…
Oliver: Look!!!! I am getting up!
Oliver *falls off with a noise*
Nubia: Ooops I guess I’ll have to wait a bit for my treats…
Oliver: Lets try it on this side…
Nubia: I’ll wait here… Tell me when you are up.
Oliver: Or maybe here?
Oliver: Yes this looks good… Time to climb!
Oliver: *Huff Huff* I am getting there!
Nubia: Watch your step!
Oliver: Almost…
Nubia: Why do I have the feeling I SHOULD move…
Oliver: Just a little bit more…
Oliver: I can smell the snacks!!! So close!!!!
Oliver: Got them! Just in time! I couldn’t have held on any longer.
Nubia: WHAT!!!! WAIT I AM STILL HERE!!!!
Oliver: Ooops too late…
*Wooomph*
Nubia: I knew I should have moved. 🙁
Oliver: Sorry sister… Oh and I seem to have forgotten your snack up there!
Nubia: Argh!!!! Go back up NOW!
Oliver: Maybe later. 😮 Meanwhile why not check our morning post for the review of this fantastic scratch post?

From the first post you can click straight through to their website. 🙂
Another new way to do a chin-up!
Haha indeed 😉
What a fantastic written piece! It looks an awesome scratcher. I’m sure Bluebell would love one.
Thank you Denise :). They are available worldwide from the company we got this one from. ^^
That was fun to watch!
Thanks 😀
🙂
I definitely gotta gets me one of these now. The girls were watching and got so excited that they drew pretty red lines on my back O.o
LOL. It’s well worth it. :). People that visit us are always like don’t scratch the art when our kids go for it. And we are like it’s theirs – it’s ok. XD
Lovely.
Thank you 🙂

Thank you all for your wonderful comments, they will continue to inspire me!
Marc-Andre I notice you have had a dabble at re-twisting the cardboard inserts! Hopefully, these couple of tips will help:
* Remove some of the weight loading down by unscrewing the oak nut and removing the top oak compressor.
* You may find it easier to create a different design by straightening up the cardboard inserts to begin with so they are all in line with the bottom oak compressor.
* Begin at the bottom.
This has given me an idea to make a recording showing the creation of different designs ;D
Haha yes a video would be amazing. :). I have to admit I got a bit confused half way through “re-designing” LOL but when my “DIY” skills are so bad I should have asked my partner to do this simple task instead haha
MOL! When I’m putting the scartchers together I have to fight off my husband who enjoys twisting designs and, of course, the Charley and Billie who are both insistent on scratch quality control! Once when a local customer came to collect a scratcher, Charley – strolling in from outside – must have thought ‘Wow, new scratcher!’ and launched herself at it! So as soon as they’re made up, they’re boxed ;D
LOL. Yeah my two little helpers were all over me when I was trying to change the design haha.
P.S.: let me know if you do record the video and I’ll post it as a follow-up 🙂
Will do!
I am not surprised someone wanted to sit upon the top. It would tip over for certain. I do not know if it is a DNA strand or an incomplete Mobius strip.
It’s perfectly secure thanks to the stone base. 🙂
I would agree with the helix 🙂
How enjoyable to watch these photographs 🙂 Thank you so much, I am sure at the end they will reach to the top! Actually it is their Himalayas…. Have a nice evening and weekend, love, nia
Thank you and have a great evening. ^^
That picture of poor Nubia realizing Oliver was about to crash down on her is priceless. 🙂 Adorable blog! Oliver is my favorite name and in fact was the name of my best kitty friend ever! My own truck house is named for him….miss him every day. That Nubia is a gorgeous girl. 🙂
Parker
Haha thank you. 😀 and yes i would not be able to recreate that photo even if I tried LOL. And so glad you paid us a visit. 🙂 if you have friends that like to submit guest stories we do accept those btw. ^^
I’ll definitely keep that in mind! I’m really curious to see how my young guy Leo takes to living on the road. My other two are older and mostly sleep these days, so I expect they will be on the bed under the window for the most part….not much exciting there, hehe. I plan on taking Leo out on a leash for walks and staking him out to “run loose” as often as possible and safe.
Parker
The earlier you get them used to being on a leash the better.
Oh, Oliver–I was cheering for you, buddy! So darn close…… That last photo is a riot–Nubia’s eyes…!!
Haha! A priceless photo indeed 🙂
Maybe next time for Oliver, but at least he reached the treats! We did have Gatsby, a Tonkinese from Edinburgh, who made it to the top of his ;D
I saw that one on Facebook! So cute. 🙂
Very cool scratcher- it is like a Jenga for cats 🙂 Better luck next time.
😀 thanks
Rather tenacious!
🙂
Cool scratch post design! And that last photo is so perfect! Hahaha
😀 thank you. And yes a priceless shot of Nubia haha!
