Hi everyone,
Since today is a very hot day here in the UK I thought it would be the perfect day to re-post a story we saw on one of our friends Blogs – Purr and Roar. Who is behind Purr and Roar you wonder? We will tell you more about that tomorrow! 😀
Cool Cats

I never tried self made ice, but sometimes in winter, when the snow piled up on the window sill outside I took some snow and made a snow ball – and my two were very curious about it – but not as daring as the little tabby furball.
I have made ice cubes before and they loved it haha 🙂
Signing up for newsletter!!
Thanks 😀
Their rough tongues do not stick to ice? Interesting.
Surprisingly not! I was worried about that too at first lol
What A COOL idea!? The human always puts ice cubes in my water- – but she’s never done that!! I think she’s going to try it!
^^ she should
She’s going to! ?
Kara would like to lay on the cool kitchen floor, with a little bowl of milk straight from the fridge.
MM always had bowls of water upstairs and down. She would tell you when she wanted it refreshed.
It’s too hot here today. Hence why I liked that video haha
Both were also partial to vanilla ice cream!
Really ! 😮
Ooooo we do this! I thought me made this up with our little cat brains but apparently not :o. Cute post x
😀 it’s a great way to keep em cool
I didn’t realize that the two cats were licking an ice ball at first. It looked like they were licking a balloon or giant bubble. I will say the photo is pretty cool.
😀
My (Topolo)Dexter prefers to lick cubes of iced milk 😀
The video is super-cute and super-funny <3
Ciao
Sid
Thank you ^^ and we need to feature your kitties at some point as a guest story. 🙂
I’m moving soon, and my cat has to travel in her cage, in the cargo hold of the plane. The lady with whom I booked asked me to freeze some water in a plastic bottle, then attach this to the inside of the door. She will lick at the condensation on the outside of the bottle. Apparently cats (and dogs) find this not only good for quenching thirst on the flight, but it seems to calm them. I thought someone was very clever to think of this!
Interesting I had no idea you’d do that for flights. At some point my two will have to move. Luckily not too far though. We are only thinking of moving from the UK to Germany haha
Cute video. I think my cats would be afraid of it, but I should make them one.
Mine were at first but nowadays they love it. 🙂
Wandering. ……
🙂
After the initial worry, that their tongue might stick to the ice, which interestingly didn’t, I loved the video immensely ! My favorite is Osamu 😀 They are so curious and so many ways play it , nice music rhyming with the cat’s rhythm 😉
Hey Ady. I have tried it myself at home too with a smaller cube and can confirm their tongues don’t stick to the ice. :). I dunno if that’s because it melts so fast or the texture of their tongue?
May be they felt fast because of coming in contact with air that warmer than ice. but my fingers are definitely sticking to ice tray inside the fridge now also 😉 Also, some warmth coming tongue also but no source to maintain the coldness of ice 🙂 I think this way 😀
Probably 🙂
I’m going to have to try out ice cubes with my boys! Thanks for sharing!
You are welcome. ^^
So Kawaii and creative ! Just tried it and my cat was afraid and curious at first and then he started licking it and playing with it with his paws…now my floor is full of his footprints hahaha. Great idea for summer 🙂
XD. Have you taken photos? 🙂
Very cool!
Thanks ^^
What a great idea!
Indeed 🙂
This video just made my day! Love it! :)))
Thanks 😀
