Hi everyone,
Today I would like to share with you a lucky rescue story from Cats Protection:
Cats Protection’s Birmingham Adoption Centre has ensured that a young female cat has eight of her ‘nine lives’ still intact after a routine spay procedure uncovered an amazing discovery.
“Little Bella came in to the charity as a stray at the beginning of the month,” says Bryan Cross, who works full time as a Cat Care Assistant at the centre.
“She is a fairly young cat, around 18 months old. She is black and white and very beautiful. As with all cats that come to us, we booked her in with our veterinarian to be vaccinated and spayed.”
However, whilst Bella was under anaesthetic, the vet noticed an unusual object in Bella’s stomach. Upon further examination, and the decision to explore with further surgery, a very sharp, flexible stick – three inches long – was discovered to be lodged in her colon.
The vet stated that if the stick, thought to be from a kebab, had encroached much further down Bella’s intestines, then the consequences would surely have been fatal.
“So Bella had a very lucky escape – if we had not opened her up, we never would have found such a potential threat to her life,” added Bryan.
Bella has recovered well from her ordeal and is a sociable and friendly girl. She would be best suited to a couple or a family with older children.

What a sweetheart!
🙂 and lucky they safer her! ^^
Ouch!
Yep poor girl. 🙁
well, right to the point…glad she is doing good
Thanks! And yes all those bbqing people need to be careful disposing of those dangerous sticks.
indeed
a valid point…
Yeah. As nice as it is so have a BBQ it’s sad to think a cat or dog may swallow things like bbq stick 🙁
glad they found it…
Oh wow! Just shows people need to be super careful about disposing items after bbq’s etc
Indeed! That’s why I thought it’s really important to post this story! 🙁
So glad to hear Bella is OK now. What a horrible story. And she’s adorable and I’m sure she’ll get a good home.
Thank you ^^
Poor kitty ( and so lucky in the same time) . Talking about no- edible things cats eat , be careful with the needle ( especially with a thread ) and other sharp / long objects like safety -pins ( the list can go on… ). Some cats they just LOVE threads and they will eat it in no time if not surveyed. And warn your family/ friends when they visit you during holiday ….
Yeah~
Bella is a BEAUTY! Her story shows she has used up at least one of NINE Lives! I do not wish to judge, but I wish people would BE VERY CAREFUL with their pets. She deserved better. I am praying for her! This is just a lovely cat and I am so sorry she had to go through this nightmare. Cat guardians: Animals need CARE! Watch them! PLEASE!
Thank you 🙂
Ahhhh Bella, enjoy your remaining lives BUT no more kebabs for you 🙂
Thank you ^^
That poor kitty, I am glad she is OK.
Thank you ^^ btw do you fancy doing another guest story? 🙂
Thank goodness! I love happy ending rescue stories.
Yeah 🙂 and thanks ^^
I want to get on a plane and bring her home… what a beautiful cat!
I know! If we didn’t already have two I would have been like omg let’s take her in. Don’t think their meowjesties would have agreed with that decision. 😉
She is beautiful. With the Guardian Angel she had she is bound to find a great home, too!
Indeed! So glad she made it. 🙂
Wow. She’s a lucky girl! Hope she finds a good forever home.
Me too 😀 and thank you 🙂
I wish I had a photo or two of Miss Peppers. She was a rescue cat that had quite a story. My son decided if his sister had a cat that he should as well…
Ah. My sister decide to take in a cat because we got two. Her name is Zelda (the cat hehe)
Miss Peppers had quite a story. I think she was the dearest cat in the family and she is missed. She was a Tuxedo (black & white) but very petite. Despite no photo, one day I shall have to write her story… 🙂
Awww. We are looking forward to that day. ^^
Poor Bella!
Poor but also lucky at the same time. I just wish people thought about stuff they dispose of.
Very true, I guess if you don’t have a pet, you don’t even think on that level!
Very true. I have to admit it made me be more careful with my rubbish too!
Pets, or if you have kids!
How are you doing otherwise Marc? Been a beautiful day!
I’ve been good. 🙂 though travel is a bit of chaos today LOL. Bloody tube strike 😡
I saw on the news! Its crazy! I was stuck on the roads yesterday with Operation Stack!
Ouch. Yeah it took forever to get home! 🙁
At least the tubes should be ok tomorrow eh! 🙂
Those may be impacted due to the strike today apparently xD
Good god! What is up with these people!!!???
I wonder the same! Wanting more money fine but talk to tfl…
?
Bella will make a ideal family member, and hope she gets one.
Thank you <3
So happy they found her & were able to get it out. 🙂
Me too 🙂
I love stories like this, especially about kitties. I’m sure she is meant to find some very special humans to love and be loved.
Thank you ^^
Poor Bella. We’re so glad that she’s allright 🙂 Btw she looks related 😉 Pawkiss 🙂 <3
Haha 😀 she is very cute. Made me want to take her in but I think King Oliver would have been upset about another queen in his kingdom not to mention her highness Nubia hehe. 😉
Poor Baby, I hope she is doing well. Nothing hurst more than a furry child that is sick 🙁 Send my kind thoughts to you Bella.
Indeed! She luckily made a full recovery 🙂
