Tom sends his greetings to Nubia 🙂
Thank you 🙂
Happy Friday 13th ! Impressive claws ! Purrs
Haha yeah her claws are something
Our lucky day!
^^
Nubia, you are a beauty on each photo I see of you!
Awww she says thanks 🙂
Well, I may say the truth on here, may I not?
🙂
Today is the last day at my job. I need to find a new one. This would, of course, happen on a Friday the 13th 🙁
Marc-Andre, an you please ask Her Meowjesty Queen Nubia to send some good luck my way? Thank you.
Oh no 🙁 of course! Nubsey will send you many purrs and good luck. <3
So sorry to hear that Ben. My black one (Monkey) will also see to it that she sends you some luck. I hope you find a job soon!
My black kitties, Andy and Dougy, wish Nubia and you a very best of Friday the 13ths, too!
Thank you ^^
Nubia, Monkey wishes you and your family a Happy 13th as well. She is excited that there were two in a row this year. And my little black cat also loves to have her picture taken! I am hoping she will bring some good luck today to win the big lotto jackpot here (we rarely by tickets but felt since it was on Friday the 13th and we have a black kitty we should give it a try!).
Thank you. And good luck 🙂
Beautiful black cat!
Thank you 🙂
You are very beautiful Nubia! I agree, black cats aren’t that difficult to get photos of as long as you aren’t trying to get the photos in the dark. 🙂
The photo with the claws was taken in semi darkness thanks to a low light camera 🙂
Nubia, Callie and I wish you a happy Friday the 13th. This is our lucky day, and we even walk under ladders. Callie, a pretty calico, is very graceful, but I’m not, so when I “accidently” knock against the ladder, is it really MY fault if the person on the ladder falls off? That’s their bad luck, not mine.
Haha. Thank you. 🙂
We think Friday the 13th is a lucky day!
🙂
Oh she is just so beautiful 😀
I love black cats. Does Nubia have faint tabby markings on her head that you can only see at a certain angle of light? Just curious because some black cats do. Its almost like a different texture of fur rather than a different shade of black.
Not that I noticed. She has a white patch on her chest and another one on her belly. 🙂
Ditto & aloha!
Thank you 🙂
How sick is it that both February and March have a Friday the 13th—worst days ever!
Happy Friday the 13th! Nubia looks pretty happy in this post.
She is the more active one of our two 🙂
Happy 13th of Friday to you, too! I once had a black kitty. His name was Sloan, and just like you, he was VERY beautiful.
I agree, black kitties bring always good luck… and to live with a black panther makes you lucky furever :o)
Haha thank you 😀
Oh to be a lover of the four paw kind
Haha 🙂
Black cats are awesome and they aren’t hard to photograph. I don’t have many pics of Eddie because he stays out of trouble. It’s sad that there is so many black cats in shelters waiting for furever homes.
Agree 🙁 when we adopted we picked Oliver and Nubia especially because they were difficult to re home colours – plus they both chose us. 🙂
13 is the Great Goddess’s number (13 lunar months in a year!) and Friday is her day (Fricka’s Day, if you are Norse, in French for ex. vendredi for Venus) so of course (1) it is really a lucky day and (2) Nubia is a goddess so of course she should pose!
I didn’t know about Fricka’s Day :0 time to brush up on my history lessons. A shame that school in Germany never covered the interesting topics haha 🙁
Sometimes she is called Frigg which in English is a rude word 😮
XD
Such a sweetie 🙂 .. Nubia looks like my cat Gina.
Thank you 🙂 if you fancy doing a guest story for Gina you’d be very welcome to do so ^^
My first cat was a black cat and she brought me so much luck and happiness. The black cats are unlucky is a stupid medieval myth, people should have more sense nowadays. Apparently black cats and dogs are more difficult to find homes for, I wish people would forget the stupid medieval myth
Totally agree with you!!!
So, I just learned THIS WEEK that my black cat isn’t really black! What a surprise!
He’s a “black smoke cat” according to Fanciers.com on cat colors:
A “solid black” is just that: black all over. It may be coal black, grayish black, or brownish black. Black cats can “rust” in the sunlight, the coat turning a lighter brownish shade.
Most solid colored cats are the result of a recessive gene that suppresses the tabby pattern. Sometimes the tabby pattern is not totally suppressed, so you might see indistinct “shadow” tabby markings in certain lights even on a solid black cat. If you look at a black leopard in a zoo, you might also see these shadow markings, because the black leopard has a similar spot-suppressing gene!
If your cat is pretty much solid black or gray, but the roots of the hairs are distinctly white, it is a “smoke.” (It’s normal for the roots on a solid cat to be grayish; true smokes, on the other hand, have definite white roots.) Smokes are the solid version of silver tabbies. These cats are very dramatic because when they move, the hair parts and the white undercoat can be seen.
A “black smoke” is a solid black cat with white roots.

Sooooo … I thought I’d share this because I thought it was interesting. 🙂
Oh wow! I had no idea. Nubia is a solid black apart from a few white patches. 🙂 one on her throat and one on her belly
She is exceptionally beautiful in that second picture.
Thank you 🙂
