As promised, Sarina from Saris Corner is back with the follow-up on the DIY Cat litter box. Please find her post below. For those that missed last week’s post on the Cat bed please check it out here.
(This post is also available in German on Katzenworld Deutschland)
Hello everyone on Katzenworld,
The second thing I wanted to do was to get the HOL box and make a litter box holder of it to reduce the amount of litter lying around everywhere. The HOL box is a simple storage box and can be found in two sizes. I don’t really have that much room so I decided to go for the small one. Again the boys were everywhere and even helped with unpacking the box. After assembling (that was pretty easy as well) I decided where the cats should enter the box and used a jig saw to make the hole (I had to lock the cat’s into another room for their own security for this step). I sanded of the edges and used the VARIERA drawer mat to lay out the interior of the box. This as well seemed to be accepted very well 🙂
I hope you enjoy my little creations and greetings from the Netherlands!

Cool!
Thanks 🙂
Thanks ^^
Very clever!
I thought so, too! Some people even make a hole in the lid and let the cats enter the box from the top, which leaves more space for the litter box inside 🙂 I have a second box and I will most likely do that with that one.
Oh. If you do – you’ll have to show us that one. 😀

The second part of my guest post about DIY for cats on Katzenworld.co.uk is online now. Again the post is also available in German. The Link can be found in the post! Head over there and have a look if you are interested!
Now that is a cool thing for a littler box.
Thank you 🙂
Thanks ^^
I must have a go at this!
Do it! I am really satisfied with both of my little projects and the cats love both of them 🙂
🙂
What a clever idea! Looks nice, surely gets adequate airing, controls stray litter, gives the cats a bit of privacy (with the ability to see what’s happening outside the box, too — the best of both worlds!), is attractive, and could be capped with a removable cushion to give kitties an extra high spot to lounge. The only thing missing: someone to dig out the waste instead of me! Ha!
Haha… that last sentence made me laugh! Thank you I am pretty satisfied with it as well and I indeed put something on top and the cats just love to be up there while I am busy getting myself presentable for yet another day 🙂
Lol. Yes a robo scooper would be nice 🙂
Wow, that’s one nice looking litter box! Way to go!
Indeed 🙂 love the idea.
Thank you! 🙂
Again, I don’t have an engineering degree and am not a DIYer. Neither is Ms. Cali. It is a very different and interesting looking product!
Haha no worries 🙂 but it sure is something special.
Thank you, that is too bad. I really like to do stuff myself and I also am not the best with tools… 😉
That’s awesome! And good pictures 🙂
Thank you Rob 🙂
Thank you! 😀
Very trendy litter box. Wood is very in fashion these days. Thanks for not posting pictures of the litter box in action. 😀
LOL. You are welcome Scott 🙂
😀 Thank you… and actually the last picture is “in action”but due to the wooden panel you can’t really see it 😉
Lmao! Good proof of that it does protect cat and human from the … 🙂
That is a nice idea, I think the cats would like that because they can see around them and not feel trapped.
Indeed! 🙂
Thank you, and that was exactly what I thought as well. I am not a big fan of closed cat toilets but this is a perfect solution for me 🙂
That was very smart and unique design. Great posting!
Thank you! Glad you liked it 🙂
Thank you, and the idea is unfortunately not my own but I really like it as well!
Cool nothing like a little privacy while take a dump!
Also thank you for dropping by to have a read…
Haha indeed! And thank you for checking out our blog too 🙂
😀 Yes indeed!
Now that is really nifty!
Noodle and crew
Thank you 🙂

Reblogged this on Fonte da arte.
Thank you ^^
Wow! So very clever.
p.s. I need 5 of those please and thank you…
Haha! 😀 Thank you and off you go to the nearest IKEA! 😉
Is there an IKEA in Canada? It’s fairly easy to make. 🙂
Yes, all over the country. Here in Ottawa we have the biggest, (and I mean BIG…) in all Canada. Well, it may be “fairly easy” to make but my specialty is cooking. Just come over anytime for a lovely golden Tarte Tatin…
Sarina, ( what a beautiful name!) you are invited too. I will put both of you to work….
Oh… that sounds so great! Unfortunately Canada is a whole ocean away 🙁 It is actually one of my long term dreams to come over and visit this country… We will see how and when that will happen. Until then I am sorry but I think you will have to do either with out them or you have to do them yourself. And, yes I am pretty fond of my name as well 😉
We may have to plan a joined visit :D. I have relatives in Vancouver and am long overdue to pay a visit to Canada!
The cat is looking up and marveling at the architecture … ! 😀
Haha indeed.
Wow this is really cool! Ellie
