Hello everyone,
We received this cute inforgraphic from www.terrysfabrics.co.uk (The sell all things house and home in the UK)
Of course we let our two sleep with us! Can’t lock out the family. <3
Cat’s like nothing more than finding a warm and snugly place to sleep – for them your bed provides all the necessary things to make their life a breeze. You can act as their pillow, their warmth provides, a leaning post – cat’s love leaning! What’s more when they’re on or in your bed they have someone close by to play with and annoy, after all why should you sleep when they want to play or be fed!
Take a look at our infographic and you’ll see that your bed may not be the peaceful place of rest and relaxation you hoped for! But, if you’re a feline lover you’ll put up with any annoyance just to have your little friend close by.
The original can be found here.
So which one of these have your cats done to you? 😮
Oli loves to do the midnight waking me up by continuously looking at me LOL.
Thanks,
Marc
Yes Sylvester and Weezer love to do the late night early morning kitty Olympics, barf either on the floor or the bed meaning I have to get up to clean it. They both use me as a human mattress and many times I wake up needing to use the bathroom and can’t move! Sometimes they do fight at 2 am or 3 am usually during days I must go to work early. And Sylvester has often caught and gifted me with water-bugs, Ugh! and at least once a mouse!! Yikes!! He bats them around as though they were soccer balls with legs! Ick! However even though they have their own kitty abode they still sleep with me. My two furry sentinels.
Luckily ours only bring toys LOL
Congratulations! You found an infographic I didn’t have. Was it at Pinterest?
It was actually sent in to me by email by the creator. 🙂
Reblogged this on The Metal Hare's Mix.
Thank you 🙂
A lot of this is familiar, but especially ‘the human mattress’. LOL. I sleep badly anyway, so I see no reason not to let the kids sleep in my bed. I love to have them there.
Same for us. 🙂
Awesome infographic! My cats have done all of these, except #9. Thankfully, they haven’t brought any of the little creatures they’ve caught in to our bed. Yet.
Thank you Trisha ^^
Our cat would perpetually jump on us, sometimes on our faces, and then smack us in the face with a paw, nose us in the face, etc. He thought breakfast was 4 a.m. I thought he needed to be locked up at night. I have a hard enough time sleeping through the night!
Pfew. Sounds like we are lucky that ours don’t do that much mischief at night lol
Wow, yes, you are lucky if yours let you sleep through the night! 🙂 *mischievous nocturnal critters*
He usually demands to sleep under the blanket at 2 am! But I’m trained to fall back asleep haha
Aww, that’s cute. 🙂
Yeah 🙂 he will curl up right next to me and purr away.
That’s really sweet.
There is a lot of #s 7 and 8 and our house. Especially in the cold of winter.
Hehe 🙂
My kitties have done a few of these things to me – mostly the “human mattress.” I love having them in bed with me though 🙂 They help me to sleep better sometimes.
Yeah! I can sleep much better than I’m the human mattress. 🙂
My cats were all shy when I took them from the shelter, so offering a harmless, sleeping human as first contact option and getting used to my sniff was part of becoming family. And after they have been on the bed once, there is no going bed. My tom has even accepted the male obligation of having to warm my feet. He curls up at the lower end of the bed on my blanket.
My now female comes to visit now and then at night – and yes, in their instinctive hunting hours both try to convince me to feed them. The solution takes some patience on the human side – ignore them. No success – drop of behaviour.
but don’t you find it difficult to ignore them? 😉
Naturally, but that is a willpower-competition.
Haha. Very true. 🙂
I can outstare a cat if I want to (mostly I dont want to, as mine are shy enough). I can out-ignore them by moths, if it takes so long. That is how I got my female around.
You sure have more stamina than me on that o.o. It’s difficult to resist Oli being cute and cuddly to beg for breakfast early haha
Well, I have a different approach to cat feeding than most cat servants. I provide them with enough kibbles to last a night (and no, the bowls are not always empty), their wet food they get after I got up (whenever that happens to be). No firm times. No firm amounts. My cats are not morbidly obese (like myself) but within an allowed weight range. Well, mostly. Tom being so tall may weigh 6,5 kg. He weighs about 7 – and I won’t torture a 9 year old cat with a heart disease by a diet. His heart disease is of the hereditary kind, well spread in Maine Coon and house cat populations.
ahh. Luckily Oli never wakes me before 6.30 and I have to get up for work at the latest by 6.45 anyway. So I just enjoy his head butting and purring for food!
Oh, it is not for lack of trying that my felines have to wait till they get served. Some days as early as half past four. But it’s cold and I will not leave my bed that early!
Can’t wait for the cold weather to be over. 🙁
Have you ever tried asking a cat not to sleep with you? I am fully aware of who is in charge at home, and it ain’t me. Gorgeous info graphic :}
No chance. I’d rather suffer from sleep deprivation than sleep without the little ones haha
My Serenity does all of the above. She enjoys night time pranks. Our boy Salem roams in the garden at night. He has a favourite tree. He does, however, come in at 3 am and then meows for water (he refuses to drink from a water bowl, I have to run fresh water into the basin for him every time he wants to drink) So I get up dutifully at 3 am every morning . Not that it matters because Serenity won’t let me sleep much anyway 🙂
Oh wow. Have you thought about a drinking fountain? Oli doesn’t touch still water either so we got him the lucky kitty fountain (review is on the blog :o)
That is a brilliant idea! Never even thought of that. Thank you!
No problem 🙂 there are many fountains out there but this one is our favourite: https://katzenworld.co.uk/2014/11/21/product-review-lucky-kitty-drinking-fountain/ easy to clean!
Same here the kitties sleep with us.
^^
I flippin LOVE this post!!! HeHeHe! I love to pounce on the human after she goes to sleep- I also
take over her pillow and sleep around her head!
XD you sure are a handful shrimp lol. A cute one tho. 🙂
HEHEHE!!! ? Why thank you!? ? ?
The infographic forgot the part of the cats wailing at the door because you locked them out! All the rest isn’t as bad as that.
Nancy
Haha that is so true XD. I never lock my door. 🙂
This is the greatest! Thanks for sharing it. And, its all SO TRUE!
Thank you 🙂
Yes, most of these are familiar. And we actually did have one of the cats bring us her midnight catch – a mouse. I, of course, jumped out of bed screaming. Hubbie couldn’t understand what all the fuss was about and went back to sleep, but I sure didn’t! ?
LOL! Should have made him get rid of it XD. So glad the only presents my two bring in are toys lol
Before the real mouse she’d bring her toy one to bed and play with it, so hubby commented, “Wait until she brings a real one to bed.” So it’s obviously all his fault that she did that! 😉
LOL! Sounds like it is indeed his fault XD
My cats sleep really well or maybe that’s me that sleeps really well. The most annoying thing they do is wake me up early in the morning insisting on being fed. Dac will climb on me and nudge me until I get out of bed.
That’s one reason I went to free choice feeding. We have a very demanding kitty who just kept wanting to be fed earlier and earlier each morning and since hubby can sleep through an earthquake (and a mouse in the bed, lol!), I decided I had to do something. Also, she gets herself upset if she doesn’t have food precisely when she wants it, then eats (too quickly?) and vomits…..ewwwwwww!
I would free fed, but I have a pig in the house aka Java. She would eat until she would explode. She is almost overweight so I’m keeping a very careful eye on her. I refuse to have fat kitties, lol.
Oli would probably over eat too lol
Haha. Sounds like the right choice in your case!
Oli does the nudging to me too. But i think that’s the best way to wake up. 🙂
Umm … I’m never annoyed by my cats. There was only one time I raised my voice- and that’s when Joey used my laptop as a springboard and broke it. But I wasn’t angry with him. If I were a cat I’d do the same thing. 😀
Haha. Can’t be angry at our kitties. They are too cute for that. 🙂
Reblogged this on Cute Cats and commented:
i still let my cat sleep with me, but the 10 common annoying night time cat habits are awesome! lol
Thank you 😀 Glad you enjoyed it. And yes I would never kick them out!!!
Jumper goes back and forth between the human bed, his bed, and his multiple sleep spots. I have insomnia, so we keep the same hours. ?. We do take awesome naps on the weekends. ??. Love my Mr. Kitty, and he loves his human (me!).
The only “annoying” thing he does, is meow/sing when he wants sleepy time cuddles. I don’t mind, but it bugs Guy (that’s cause he is a normal sleeper).
Awwww Mr kitty sounds like th perfect nap companion haha. Oliver wants sleepy cuddles to and will tickle me until I wake and cuddle him xD
Jumper does the same thing, he’ll tickle my nose. This use to scare me awake at first, had no clue what was going on, and now it’s the norm.
Haha same for me. He does get a bit more violent if I don’t wake up tho! Eventually he will tap and gently scratch me haha xD
He bit my toes this morning! Silly kitty!
Ouchy. Oli only sometimes attacks our toes. Nubia is the one that does that more often! Haha
