Hello everyone,
Please find below this very interesting Infographic from Happify and the Psychologists at Miami University (And not how cats won slightly ahead of dogs :D):
So what is your favourite pet? đŸ˜‰
Hope you enjoyed this and more details can be found @ Happify
Thanks,
Katzenworld
I love many kinds of pets. I dislike robotic pets
Yoshiko
>
Yeah robotic ones do creep me out xD
XD
I saw a robot one when I went to tokyo. In akihabara. And while I am a technology geek that was just weird xD
XD indeed weird
I like them all! Cats however seem to gravitate towards me. đŸ™‚
Same for me đŸ˜€
Funny how that happens. đŸ˜‰
They know who will feed and love them by just looking at us! Pretty sure they have mind reading and manipulation powers lol
LOL đŸ˜€
Sorry wordpress decided to put this into spam đŸ˜¡ I do hope they read my feedback on this random spam classification XD. Seems to happen quite a bit recently o.O
I’ve had many pets, dogs, cats, hamsters, fish, koi, birds. But my favorite pet is a cat. I’ve had 3 in my lifetime, each so special. The one who remains, Tiffy, is a bit of a diva and a chatterbox, but she is a lovebug just like the others. Cats get the reputation that they are not friendly nor affectionate, but that is simply not true. ?
So true! I have had fish and turtles. And got to admit that as a child I didn’t see cats in the same way I see them today đŸ™‚
Very GOOD!
Thank you đŸ™‚
Excellent! I chose cats as pets since I live in a retirement community where a barking dog would be unwelcome. I never thought of myself as a dog person or cat person since I like all animals pretty much equally – except monkeys! (Hate the little $*#&$’s!) Cats in an apartment, however, are a better choice unless you have a small dog that’s well-trained not to bark.
Very true. Do love the fact you don’t have to take your cat for a walk hehe. I’m sure after a long day of work that would tire me out eventually lol
i have yet to read this, but i’m sure i’ll agree with everything, so i already liked it, haha
đŸ™‚ Thanks
Except cats are perfect for the couch potato like me!
Especially if you got a cat that loves doing the same. Nap with you ^^
Dickens cat is my buddy.
<3 You know where I am with regards our furry kids. <3
Indeed! đŸ™‚
I love this!! I find so much truth in it…even though there’s no turtles there đŸ˜‰
XD I do find that turtles, snakes and reptiles often get the shortend of the stick :x. One of my friends has to crested dragons and they can still be cute and comforting <3
Oh I also want a bearded dragon.
there are many cute reptiles out there, but I know why they are often shortened, many people think they are not cuddle-able
That’s like people that say a sphynx cat can’t be cuddly because it has no fur đŸ˜¡ (they may look different but are so adorable!)
We know we make our mom happy!
Ah :). If you and your mum fancy a guest star post you can always drop us an email with your story and photos ^^. Would link back to your own blog =)
First and always first a cat lover. I have had a dog for the last seven years – first time as a dog momma – I love him more than life itself – he is my co-pilot, exercise companion and protector. But nothing will ever win over stroking a cat’s belly as she lays on her back completely trusting and purring so loud she squeaks. Except if a robber breaks in the house – the cat will run and hide and the dog will attack. I love them both!
You need to tell your dog to train your cat :D. One of my kitties seems to think he is a puppy. Even growls at the postman <.< lol
I’ve had all kinds of pets, and like pretty much all animals. I had birds and fish as a kid, though they never lasted long. I even had gerbils at one point. But I like cats and dogs best, and though I like dogs a lot, I would have to say cats are my favorite.
Ah sounds a lot like myself. I used to have fish and turtles when I was young. Wouldn’t swap my kitties in for anything now tho đŸ™‚

I would generally agree on these stats. However, I have to say that animals must be well protected when you adopt a child. If the child comes into the home with the pets already living there, keep a careful watch.
If you are thinking of adopting an older child and do not have pets, do not get any pets until you know the child so well that you are almost certain (because nothing is 100%).
One of my conditions on adopting a child was that the child had not shown any violence toward animals. The maiden had not been violent in the current foster home and there was a dog.
But I learned a lesson and hope the CAS did as well. Foster homes and adoptive homes bring out big differences. The maiden was jealous of my 16.5 year old cat. Tasha had been with me before the maiden and the maiden didn’t like that. She tried to kill Tasha.
When Tasha died I thought I’d try a dog. The dog would be our dog. But the dog became a victim during her rage stage. He never went for her even when she was punching him in the head and kicking him. He learned the signs of an oncoming rage and he ran outside to be safe or would stay close to my side to protect me and so I could protect him. She still gets jealous of him 7 years later. Because he gets to sleep in my room and she doesn’t.
She is 15 (in physical years) but only 8 in other ways developmentally. So while I will let her come in for a cuddle, and a chat, she has her own room and that is where she sleeps. She hasn’t raged for a few years now – those days are behind us now I am almost certain. She hasn’t hurt the dog since those days.
She doesn’t remember hurting the dogs. She remembers hurting Tasha though. Which tells me hurting Tasha the cat was purposeful. The dogs were simply an object during the rage.
I offer these thoughts not to scare prospective adoptive parents – the purpose of my blog is to share experiences I’ve had, educate people and learn from others. That makes us all better parents and citizens in the end.
Pets can teach empathy and responsibility. But like everything having a pet depends on each individual situation. I wouldn’t advise getting one for those reasons – I taught my daughter empathy using wildlife lessons because there was too much emotion wrapped up in the household animals.
I so agree with all of that. We had dogs and bunnies when I was growing up but now my favorite pets are cats. Cats rule!
Thanks :). Glad you liked the article ^^. And yeah cats are my favourite too nowadays đŸ˜€
