Cat Cafe: Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium in London

So this Friday just gone we got around to visit London’s amazing Cat Emporium. For those of you that are more interested in the photos than the review you can find the complete album here.

The cat cafe was a fantastic experience from the beginning to the end!

Upon entry to the cafe we were greeted by friendly staff who explained the rules of the cafe to ensure that no harm comes to the cats. We also had to wash our hands which again is important for the wellbeing of the cats.

There is a £5 charge per head which in our opinion was very reasonable! Especially since the waitresses in the cafe are not pushy and will not force you to order more. As for staff inside the cafe there were many friendly staff members around who ensured not just the cats wellbeing but were also open for a chat and made you feel very welcome.

Our seating was at 9 pm and it wasn busy but not too busy so we got a chance to pick if we wanted to sit upstairs or downstairs and decided to sit in the downstairs part on one of the sofas:

The cats had many nice hiding spaces and were were also plenty of toys for them and of course us to use with them.

Below are some of the pictures we took of the cats throughout the downstairs part of the cafe:

They had plenty of little bowls of food around in different parts of the cafe to ensure that all cats always had access to food.

I loved this little playhouse! 🙂

Below you can see an amazing playhouse bookshelf

I especially liked the little walkway on it of course with cat. 🙂 I asked one of the ladies that works at the cafe where they got it from and it’s apparently DYI using IKEA furniture! I may have to head there to get some stuff to build a custom tower of joy for our own kitties. 😀

Of course the upstairs area had loads of space for both humans and kitties as well including a giant wheel that the cats can run in. We actually saw a similar one of these on our London Pet show visit last month! If we had the space we would certainly get one of those:

Also loved the walkways all over the place for the cats! And this could certainly be done in your own regular home without the need of much space. 🙂

Again the cats had plenty of hiding and resting spaces in the upper part of the cafe

There is just something that says CUTE OVERKILL when seeing a cat inside a cat shaped sleeping place. 🙂

Being adorably cute in the miniature bed. 😉

This lil boy is sleeping on top of his scratch tree platform.

A fantastic idea to turn an old coffee sack into a cat hammock! I would love to have one of those for our little Oliver. 😀

We were very lucky to be at the cafe for the main feeding time of the kitties. This is when they get large plates of wet food and one of them just couldn’t wait for this to happen and kept meowing at the door (despite plenty of bowls of dry food! picky fella 😉 )

Of course there were also loads of souvenirs available! You could literally find anything with a cat related theme in here. From mugs, to oyster card holders.

Show your support by buying one of these cat emporium buttons!

These stones were especially cute. We inquired about them and they are custom made cat stones painted by a lady in Germany her website can be found here.

More pictures (over a hundred to be precise!) can be found on our facebook page by clicking here.

So what’s the final verdict from us? If you haven’t yet been you MUST go! And of course if you already have been here – take your friends and go again!

We have been to quite a few cat cafes now and this one has been one of the best we have been to! The cats are well looked after and as we said before the staff is friendly and welcoming. So if you live in London or are planning a trip to London head over to their website here and contact them to book yourself a table. 🙂

They are located at 152-154 Bethnal Green Rd, London E2 6DG not too far from Shoreditch High Street station.

We hope you enjoyed reading our review and would love if you share it and maybe even like our Facebook page! 🙂

I like the idea of these cat cafes. This one looks like it is set up for the cats first, which it should be. I think if more people get to interact with cats and enjoy them, it has to benefit cats in general (and humans)

Another cat café and a hum dinger too!! I am delighted that the cats come first…as it should be of course but not everyone sees things my way. Pity too, because I am usually right. So Canada is really lagging behind with the cat café notion. Either that or we live in the sticks and are way behind the times. Thank you for another amazing glimpse into the cat café phenomenon.

    Hugs, Shoko

I had no idea such PhDs access exist. Thanks for the descriptions and especially the great pictures. I am trying to imagine my guys stepping onto a hammock! Pretty funny the first time, but I think they would like it eventually.
